Why didn't my verification code arrive?
Short answer
Four reasons cover almost every case: the service refuses virtual numbers (Telegram, banks), the sender is outside the US and Canada, the number was entered in the wrong format, or the service is simply slow. Check the Messages inbox, re-enter the number with +1, and choose a voice call for the code if offered.
What should I check first?
- Open Messages in TwinPhone and refresh — codes land there, not in the call log.
- Make sure you entered the number with +1 and no leading zero.
- Wait for the service's resend timer, then ask for the code again once.
- If the service offers Call me or a voice code, choose it: the call rings in TwinPhone.
Does the service accept virtual numbers?
Some do not. Telegram, most banks and many payment apps refuse virtual numbers and never send the code. WhatsApp and Google do send codes: in the 90 days to 27 September 2026, 41 TwinPhone numbers received 55 WhatsApp codes and 10 received 25 Google codes.
Is the code coming from outside the US?
Texts sent from phones outside the US and Canada are often dropped before they reach a US number. If a code is sent by a person or a local gateway abroad, it may never arrive; ask for a voice call instead.
Can support check whether a code arrived?
Yes. Write to support@twin-phone.com from the email on your account with the number and the time you requested the code; we can see whether any text reached it.
