Call travel customer service from another country

The flight moved, the booking vanished, the bag did not arrive — and the hotline on the confirmation email is a national number your foreign SIM cannot dial. Here is which ranges fail, what to dial instead, and how to place the call from your browser.

Dial a support line abroad

Pick a company below, or type any support number in full international format.

Call this number

Free account, no card to start. Outgoing calls are pay-as-you-go and billed per second after a 60-second minimum — you only pay for the time you spend on hold.

Why the support number on your booking will not connect

A support hotline is usually a national number: freephone, shared-cost or a short service code. Those ranges exist inside one country's numbering plan and nowhere else, so a foreign network has nothing to route the call to and rejects it — often with a recorded message that sounds like the airline is closed. Nothing is wrong with your phone. The number simply has no international form.

Almost every operator publishes a second, geographic number for callers from abroad. Below is what breaks and what to dial instead, country by country. Rates are what Twin-Phone charges to a landline in that country, per second after a 60-second minimum.

National number ranges that cannot be dialled from abroad, the reason, the international alternative, and Twin-Phone's landline rate to that country.

🇪🇸Spain+34900, 902

Spanish 900 freephone and the 902 shared-cost range do not accept calls from abroad.

🇸🇬Singapore+651800

Singapore 1800 numbers are domestic-only.

Drop the leading 1 and dial +65 800 … only if the operator lists that form; otherwise use the +65 6… line published for international callers.$0.08
🇹🇷Turkey+90444 X XXX

Türkiye's 444 numbers are seven-digit national service codes with no area code, so there is nothing to put after +90 — they simply cannot be dialled from another country.

Look for the carrier's 0850 line. 0850 is a nationwide non-geographic range that does convert: drop the trunk 0 and dial +90 850 …. That is the form that connects from abroad.$0.09
🇺🇸United States+11-800, 1-833, 1-844, 1-855, 1-866, 1-877, 1-888

North American toll-free numbers are free only from inside the US and Canada. From most other countries they are either barred outright or connect as a chargeable international call — the 'free' part never travels.

Airlines and platforms publish a country-specific +1 … line for international callers. That one behaves like an ordinary international call.$0.02

Rates are per minute to a landline in that country and come from the same rate engine that bills the call. Service and non-geographic ranges can price differently — the dialer quotes the exact per-minute price for the number you enter before it connects.

The support number you found on Google may be a trap

Search "talk to a live agent at" almost any travel brand and the results include PDFs hosted on domains that have nothing to do with travel — a university file server, a government agency's upload directory — each carrying a phone number and a promise of a 24/7 human. Those pages are placed there precisely because the host domain looks trustworthy. The number belongs to whoever uploaded the file.

The people searching those terms are, by definition, mid-crisis: stranded, out of pocket, holding a payment card, ready to read a booking reference to anyone who sounds official. That is the whole business model of the fake-hotline industry, and it is why this page behaves the way it does.

Take the number from the brand

Open the airline's or platform's own site — the link on every card above goes straight there. If a number appears anywhere else, treat it as unverified.

Nobody legitimate asks for the full card

A real support agent may confirm the last four digits of a card already on file. Being asked to read out a full number, expiry and CVV means you are not talking to the airline.

Urgency is the tell

"Pay a reissue fee in the next ten minutes or the seat is released" is a script, not an airline policy. Hang up and call back on the number from the official site.

How to turn any national number into a dialable one

  1. 1. Find the country the line sits in — the company's registered country, not yours.
  2. 2. Drop the trunk prefix. Most of Europe writes numbers with a leading 0 that exists only for domestic dialing: 020 7946 0000 becomes +44 20 7946 0000. Italy is the exception and keeps its zero.
  3. 3. Put the country code in front with a +. Never type the exit code (00, 011) into an internet dialer — + already means "international".
  4. 4. If the number starts with a freephone or premium range from the table above, stop: it has no international form. Go back to the official contact page and look for the line labelled for callers from abroad.
Open the dialer

Calling travel support from abroad — questions people actually ask

Numbering plans, costs and what to do when the only option is chat.

Freephone ranges are national services, not international ones. A 0800 (UK, Germany, Netherlands), 1800 (Ireland, Singapore) or 1-800 (US, Canada) number exists only inside its own numbering plan, and foreign networks have nothing to route it to — the call is rejected before it leaves your operator. The airline almost always publishes a separate geographic number for international callers; that is the one to dial, in full +country-code form.

You cannot. Turkish 444 numbers are seven-digit national service codes with no area code, so there is no international form of them — nothing exists to place after +90. Look instead for the carrier's 0850 line: 0850 is a nationwide non-geographic range that does convert. Drop the trunk zero and dial +90 850 followed by the rest.

With Twin-Phone it is an ordinary international call at pay-as-you-go rates, billed per second after a 60-second minimum, with no subscription. Roaming is the expensive path: your carrier can bill both the international leg and a roaming surcharge on a call you spend forty minutes holding for. The dialer shows the exact per-minute price for the number you typed before you connect.

No. Twin-Phone runs in the browser and on iOS, and a free account needs only an email address — no SIM, no second device, no number of your own. You need a rented number only if you want to receive calls or SMS.

Because we cannot verify most of them, and an unverified support number is dangerous. Search results for these queries are seeded with fake 'live agent' numbers hosted on unrelated third-party domains — that is a vishing pattern aimed at people who are already stressed and holding a payment card. We publish a number only when we have read it off the brand's own site, and we print the date we read it. For everything else we link you to the brand's official contact page.

For anything time-critical, usually yes. Chat queues are designed for asynchronous handling, which is fine for a refund form and poor for a connection leaving in ninety minutes. The practical pattern is to open the chat and dial in parallel, then use whichever answers first.

Start with whoever holds the money. If the ticket was issued by Booking.com, Expedia, Kiwi.com, eDreams or Trip.com, the airline will often decline to change it and send you back to the platform. Self-transfer itineraries are the clearest case: the platform, not the airline, owns the missed connection.

Yes — that is the whole point of dialing over the internet. Twin-Phone routes to 145 destinations, so where you physically are does not decide which support line you can reach. You dial the number in international format and the call goes out over our carrier network rather than your roaming operator.
