Which countries can I get a phone number in?
Short answer
In the United States and Canada (Puerto Rico is covered under US numbering), from $3.19 a month. That is the whole list: UK, EU, Australian and Japanese numbers require the operator to verify your local address, and TwinPhone does not offer them. A US or Canadian number works from anywhere with an internet connection, including outside North America.
Why only the US and Canada?
US and Canadian numbers can be issued instantly without documents. Most other countries' regulators require the operator to hold proof of the customer's local address before a number is assigned, and we do not run that verification. Rather than promise dates, we list only what you can rent today.
Can I use a US number if I live abroad?
Yes. The number lives in your TwinPhone account, not on a SIM, so it rings in the browser or the iPhone app wherever you are. Calls to it are billed $0.02/min from your balance; texts from US and Canadian senders arrive in the inbox. You can rent up to 3 numbers per account.
Can I choose the area code?
You can search available numbers by area code in the Numbers section of the dashboard. Availability changes daily; popular codes sell out first.

Can I get a UK or German number?
No. Those numbers are not offered.
Can I call any country with a US number?
Yes. Outbound calls go to phones in 145+ countries, each at its own per-minute rate shown before the call connects.
