Can I send text messages from TwinPhone?
Short answer
No. TwinPhone numbers receive text messages but cannot send them, and there is no send button anywhere in the app or the browser dialer. You can reply by calling the person instead: calls to the US and Canada cost $0.02 a minute, and every other country's rate is shown before you dial.
Why can't a TwinPhone number send SMS?
TwinPhone is built for calls and for receiving calls and texts on a second number. Sending texts from US numbers requires carrier registration for each sender, and we have not built that. We would rather say so plainly than sell a number that promises it.
What can I do instead?
Call. Any landline or mobile answers a TwinPhone call like a normal call — the person needs no app. If you need to reply to a verification text, most services also offer a voice-call option for the code. For two-way texting, a messaging app such as WhatsApp or iMessage on your own phone is the right tool.

Can I reply to a text I received?
Not by SMS. You can call the sender back from the dialer if the sender is a person with a phone number.
Is SMS sending planned?
We do not announce features before they exist. Today numbers receive SMS only.
