A virtual number for Telegram does not receive the code

No. Telegram classes VoIP numbers as virtual and does not deliver its login code to them, by SMS or by call. A carrier-issued mobile SIM is the only reliable way to register a Telegram account.

As a second line: calls in and out from your browser or the iPhone app, and incoming texts from US and Canadian phone numbers and businesses. It is not a substitute for a SIM on services that block virtual numbers — Telegram, banks and most payment providers.

Not on a virtual number. Telegram only offers the call-back option for numbers it treats as mobile lines, and it treats TwinPhone's US and Canada numbers as VoIP.

Telegram decides on its side whether to accept a number, so no provider can promise it. A US or Canada number that is yours alone while you rent it does better than a free shared one, which apps often already recognise. If the number itself doesn't work as described, write to support within 7 days of the charge and we'll issue credit or a prorated refund. You can cancel the rental at any time.

It's a receive line — it takes incoming SMS (including your codes) and calls into your browser inbox. It's built for receiving your Telegram verification code and calls, not for two-way texting.

No — it's a real, dedicated US or Canada number you rent from $3.19/month, yours alone for as long as you rent it. That's exactly why it verifies more reliably than a free public number.
