What is TwinPhone and what is it used for?

What do people use it for?
- Calling phones abroad from a computer — nothing to install, and the person answers an ordinary call. Calls to the US and Canada cost $0.02 a minute; every other rate shows before you dial.
- Replacing Skype Credit after Skype closed in May 2025: a prepaid balance, per-minute billing, no subscription.
- A US or Canadian number while living elsewhere, so family, clients or services in North America can reach you.
- Receiving verification codes from US and Canadian senders: WhatsApp and Google codes arrive; Telegram refuses virtual numbers.
What doesn't TwinPhone do?
It cannot send SMS, it cannot dial emergency numbers such as 911 or 112, and it offers numbers only in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico — no UK, EU or other local numbers. Personal calls are not recorded.
How is it paid for?
Calling is pay-as-you-go: top up from $10, and calls are billed per minute, rounded up, with a one-minute minimum, no connection fee and no subscription. Credit never expires. A rented number is the only monthly charge. Signing up needs an email or a Google account — no card and no phone number.

No. It is an internet calling service: there is no SIM, and calls reach the phone network through our carriers.
Does the person I call need TwinPhone?
No. They answer an ordinary call on their landline or mobile.

Yes — TwinPhone has an app for iPhone (iOS 17.0 or later) on the App Store and one for Android on Google Play, and it also works in a browser with nothing to install. One account and one balance work on every device, so you can start a top-up on a laptop and call from the phone.
